Hawksbill Thursday!

Today we had Dr. Larry Wood with the Florida Hawksbill Project aboard Kyalami! Dr. Wood has special permits to handle and research hawksbill turtles so he brought one onto the boat to collect all kinds of data. Such a treat to have a turtle waiting on the boat for you when you come out of the water from your dive.

An upwelling caused some really cold temperatures on the bottom at Leigh’s Ledge and Lighthouse, the fish all seemed a little confused but we still got to see some turtles and goliaths and other beautiful marine life. Fingers crossed for warmer water tomorrow.
